Nothing Is True, Everything Is Permitted

Having just finished Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, I’d really like to speak on it. The story begins more or less with Desmond Miles realizing he’s in a coma from prolong periods of time within the Animus… and possibly killing Lucy. Go, go Apple of Eden!

Desmond wakes up in Animus Island to find Gary Busey standing over him. He’s not Gary Busey obviously, but Subject 16 comes off with the same demeanor. Alright bleedin effect! Subject 16 placed bits and pieces of himself within the Animus construct for his successor to find in the previous Assassin’s Creed games. Assassin’s Creed the second featured a video of Adam and Eve escaping Eden with the Apple in hand. Brotherhood had more clues within the Animus construct that were left behind Subject 16 as well. When fully collected you got to meet Sixteen in a digital anomoly version of himself. He reminded me of Homoculus from the old Playstation 2 game ‘Shadow of Destiny’.

Those were some of the more interesting bits of ACII and Brotherhood. Having bits of history we’ve learned throughout our years in school being twisted just the smallest bit to fit within the realm of the Templars and Assassin’s. Also finding out that Altaïr, Ezio, and Desmond are apparently descendants of primordial Adam. At the end of Brotherhood, it was mentioned that apparently there is an Eve out there and Lucy was not it. Hence, the stabbing. I couldn’t even begin to comprhend who may be Eve. I’m begining to think that it’s possibly someone on the Templar side since Altaïr and Maria (former Templar) made some babies.

What I find shocking more than most is that there was no mention of Eve in Revelations at all unless I missed it. There were no special glyphs or outside information to find anywhere within this iteration of the game. So maybe there will be some more explained of that when Assassin’s Creed III drops.

As far as for Revelations went it was a decent game. The free running seemed a bit off at times, but it’s expected. It just seemed a bit worse this time around or maybe it’s just Ezio’s age catching up. One beef I have is with the other assassin’s A.I.. Anytime I had a flunky with me they’d alway cause some unnecessary drama keeping me from getting 100% sync. “No Conflict”??? Nope… A.I. assassin will go out of his or her way to start shit. Just little things here and there that just make you wanna rage. All in all it was a really good final installment for both Altaïr and Ezio. In most cases Oldtaïr and Eldzio.

Another interesting thing about Altaïr is that he had a son. You didn’t really get a good look at his face until well toward the end. Subject Sixteen shared a resemblance to Altaïr’s son, Darim. Much how Desmond shares a likeness to both Altaïr and Ezio. My mind was blown.

So here’s lookin’ to some good DLC content for Revelations. After the Animus Island reconstructs itself two of the 7 or 8 pillars were broken are now whole again. So maybe some more Desmond DLC. Who knows.
